In the Orange Room this year, there will be two daily staff members. I, Sandra Cole, am one of the main classroom teachers.  I have been a teacher at Summit Academy for the last fifteen years, and will be teaching the state required curriculum for Math and Science to all Orange Room students, and also Writing to the students in my homeroom. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 1992 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, and again in 2002 with a Masters Degree in Education. During each school day I enjoy working with the students and watching them strive towards achieving student responsibility and academic growth, while on the weekends I enjoy spending time with my family and pets.

 

Marjorie Higdon is the other main classroom teacher. She also has been teaching here at Summit Academy for the last fifteen years. This year, she will be teaching Language Arts and Social Studies to all Orange Room students, and also Writing to her homeroom students.

 

 In addition to the main classroom teachers, the Orange Room will also have one para professional this year. Mrs. Sparks will be in the classroom to assist the students with various learning activities daily.
