Classroom/ Home Communication

I realize the importance of keeping an open line of communication with each student's family.  It is for this reason that I make the following options available to keep you informed.

Phone Calls- (734)379-6810.  You may call the office at this number listed, but please keep in mind that my number one priority is teaching the students.  During class hours, the office will not transfer a call to the classroom unless it is an emergency.  If you leave a message, I will return your call as soon as time permits.

Notes- All of the Orange Room students will be receiving an orange ‘take-home’ folder and also a weekly planner during the first week of school.  Please feel free to send notes via this folder or planner, as they will be checked by me each day. Also please be sure to discuss the contents of the classroom folder and planner nightly with your child to promote a positive home-school connection and also to help foster your child’s academic and organizational growth.

Newsletters- A classroom newsletter will come home every week.  Please be sure to read it over, as it will contain pertinent information about what is happening in the classroom.  The classroom newsletter and other important information that comes home can also be viewed on my Summit Academy web site which can be found using www.summit-academy.com.

Drop In- Parents are always welcome to drop in to assist with classroom activities.

Appointments- Please feel free to contact me to make an appointment to discuss any concerns you may have.

Conferences- Student lead conferences are held twice a year. These 10-15 minute conferences are an opportunity for your child to show off their performance in class.  Other concerns, not involving your student’s academic progress should be addressed at another scheduled appointment.
