 For the month of October, students will begin to learn about ancient Egyptian history, culture, and artwork. 

 

Parents: Students will be required to bring in a shoe box for this project. Any size will do. A box with a lid will work best. If you have extra shoe boxes, donations would be greatly appreciated for those students who may not have one.

 

For their art project, students will decorate a shoe box to represent an Egyptian sarcophagus. Students will draw either an Egyptian pharoah or queen on paper and glue it onto the lid of the box. Paper will cover the rest of the shoe box. Each side will be decorated with Egyptian symbols.

 

Students will also make their own three-dimensional mummy using aluminum foil and fabric. This will be placed inside the students' shoe boxes.
