Materials for Success
Classroom supplies--Here is a list of classroom items that will help your Orange Room student to be successful. This list has been presented early in the summer so parents may take advantage of the summer sales.
4 pkgs. 24-count #2 pencils 2 pkgs. wide-ruled loose leaf paper 1 small pencil sharpener 4 composition notebooks (not spiral, please) (ELA and writing) 2 spiral notebooks (math) 1 small pair scissors 5 glue sticks 2 boxes crayons 1 small Dollar Store $1 calculator 1 box colored pencils 2 boxes of 8 or 10 Crayola Markers 1 pack index cards 1 set dry erase markers (for math/spelling dry erase board activities) 1 ruler, 1 compass, 1 protractor (math) 1 bottle hand sanitizer 2 containers Chlorox Wipes 2 boxes Kleenex 10 folders (the two-pocket version) that have prongs in the middle: 2 red, 2 green, 2 blue, 2 yellow, and 2 purple. (The math groups use the purple folders, the language arts groups use the red folders, the blue folder is for the Science Fair, the yellow folder can be used as a homework folder, and the green folders will hold the writing your student is creating.) It is important to have the two-pocket folders to hold on-going activities for projects. The prongs help to hold the lined paper for activities in those subjects. 1 ream copy paper 1 box Zip-Loc type bags: either quart or gallon for math and language arts activities Headphones--*When students get their computers, they will be able to use headphones. They can be purchased at the Dollar stores--no need to get the expensive ones. Flashdrive (optional)--As I write this, several stores are having sales on flashdrives. This item is a great thing to have to back up your child's computer work.
