Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum - The Adler opened on May 12, 1930 as the first planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. Today it continues to interpret the exploration of the Universe for the broadest possible audience.

American Association of Physics Teachers - The AAPT's goal is to enhance the understanding and appreciation of physics through teaching. In addition to helping you learn more about traditional teaching methods, this site can help you learn new teaching methods and use modern technology to entice your students with the wonders of science.

Bad Science - This page is maintained by Alistair B. Fraser in an attempt to sensitize teachers and students to examples of the bad science often taught in schools, universities, and offered in popular articles and even textbooks.

The Discovery Channel - Frequently updated history, technology, nature, exploration and science community areas contain stories, graphics, games and conversation.

Exploratorium - The Exploratorium is an online museum of science, art, and human perception with over 500 interactive “hands on” exhibits.

The Faces of Science - provides a profile of African American men and women who have contributed to the advancement of science and engineering.

K-12 Science Education Resources - A vast list of links compiled by William Beaty, a “professional electronics designer,” with a deep love of science. Beaty was one of the first on the Internet to begin compiling sites that are helpful to scientists and science teachers. This site lists hundreds of links related to science and science teaching, includes “K-6 Textbook Errors”, “Cool Science”, or “Amateur Science”. Keep to visit and bookmark!

Kid’s Web - Kid’s Web presents students with a subset of the Internet that is simple to navigate and contains information targeted toward K-12 students.

National Science Teacher’s Association - NSTA’s mission is to promote excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. This site offers classroom resources and online newsletters.

The Nine Planets - This multimedia tour of the solar system includes an overview of the history, mythology, and current scientific knowledge of each of the planets and moons in our solar system.

The Physical Sciences Resource Center (PSRC) - This site is a collection of information and resources for physical sciences education.

Virtual Frog Dissection - This interactive program is part of the “Whole Frog” project. The program allows interactive dissection of a frog and the capability to make movies. A browser that supports forms and sensitive images is needed.

Volcano World - Sponsored by the University of North Dakota, this site is the premier source of volcano info on the Web. Links include: Current Eruptions, Volcano descriptions, Interviews, video clips, and much more.

The Why Files - The Why Files portray science as a human endeavor conducted by ordinary people. This site uses news and current events as springboards to explore science, health, environment, and technology. Stories are classified according to science education standards.

Lesson Plans Ocean Exploration for grades 5-12 with 165 hands-on and standards-based lesson plans have been developed that bring entire classrooms "on board" for exploration and discovery. Using new technological "eyes" to see, sense, measure, image, and describe a little known ocean world, scientists and educators are bringing the excitement of late-breaking ocean discoveries into classrooms through the lesson plans presented here.

Staff members also provide support services for activities such as career fairs and workshops, and direct a variety of other activities to attract students into careers in chemistry.

National Academy of Sciences National Science Education Standards -- The recently published science education standards developed by the National Academy of Sciences in collaboration with hundreds of teacher participants is now available online. The standards document contains recommendations for K-12 science education practices.

National Association of Biology Teachers -- The National Association of Biology Teachers is the largest national association dedicated exclusively to the concerns of biology and life science educators.

National Geographic Magazine -- An online version of National Geographic Magazine produced in varying multimedia formats.

National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) -- Access to an extensive list of online resources for learning about and teaching science.

Periodic Table Quiz Questions -- Access more than 1000 free, interactive science and chemistry quiz questions per age group and topic for school and college students. This resource was researched, developed and designed by Alwyn Botha located in Hartbeespoort, South Africa.

Pfizer FunZone -- An interactive site with games, activities, and articles designed to make learning about science fun.

Random Knowledge Generator -- The Random Knowledge Generator, by the MAD Scientist Network at Washington University, is the ultimate in randomly generated interesting information, such as why are there wrinkles on your skin?

Plant Science---Iowa State University site for high school teachers and students that includes demonstrations, experiments, links to plant science resources, and information about plant science careers.
